BRANDON GETTIG
AREA REPRESENTATIVE, GREATER ROCHESTER
Brandon is from Milesburg, Pennsylvania and grew up in a godly home with 3 siblings. Throughout grade school and high school, baseball and basketball were consistent passions starting at an early age. In high school, he added soccer to his resume, further embedding his love for all sports. He went on to play four years of baseball at Penn State DuBois. After college, he served at Houghton University for two years as an assistant baseball coach. It was during this time that he was drawn to the ministry of FCA.
“I joined FCA because of my passion for sports and desire to see them used to bring more people to the life-saving love of Jesus Christ. Playing sports has blessed me with so many amazing experiences and opportunities, and it has developed me largely into the person I am today.” He goes on to say, “I believe God is using FCA to restore the culture of sports from what is often a very toxic environment, to free people from finding their identity as an athlete or a coach, and to lead them into a transformational relationship with Jesus Christ.”
As a west side Area Representative for FCA Greater Rochester, Brandon works with coaches and athletes both at Roberts Wesleyan University and local high schools to build their skills as faith leaders on their teams and campuses, all while leading our area College Summer Internship Program. Brandon lives in Rochester where his hobbies include exploring new places, staying active through exercise and many sports including basketball, soccer, snowboarding and golf. He also enjoys all things music, especially playing guitar.
