JESSE TANNER

MULTI-AREA DIRECTOR

Jesse comes to the Rochester FCA staff with years in ministry experience after serving in multiple pastoral roles. His sports background includes both playing and coaching basketball and soccer at the club and modified levels. “I joined FCA for the opportunity to spread the Gospel and cross racial divides through sports; to show the love of God through creating equity in the quality of sports training and opportunities in the city.” 

As the Western NY Multi-Area Director, Jesse’s focus is to support the ministry of FCA in Buffalo and Rochester NY.  “By supporting new area directors and our current staff, I hope to pave the way for these leaders to thrive in their different FCA roles.” 

When asked to describe what prompted his move to FCA, he said, “My catalyst moment for coming on staff was watching Chris Regan pour into my three sons, who were all young athletes. He spoke to their influence through their success within their respective sports and to reach their school and friends for Jesus.”  Jesse wanted the chance to see other young people “unlocked for who they can be in Christ and maximize the reach they can have through their influence of sport.” 

Although Jesse still enjoys playing outdoor basketball, his greatest joy is watching his boys play their different sports. Besides that, favorite moments are walks with his wife, Corrie and dog, Rosie.
