LYDIA CATALINO

ADMIN ASSISTANT, GREATER ROCHESTER

Lydia Catalino recently graduated from Houghton College with a Sports, Recreation, and Wellness Management major with a concentration in Sports Ministry. She also had the opportunity to play on the Women’s Volleyball team and serve as their team Chaplain for the 2021 season. This experience allowed her to practically see how competition and faith can intertwine and how much more motivated a team can be when their goal is giving God the glory. Now, as an Administrative Assistant in the Greater Rochester area, Lydia is able to serve as a supporting role to her staff as well as having a hand in the ministry events and projects in the area.

Growing up in a very culturally and economically diverse school system in Buffalo, I have gained a first-hand perspective on how financials can affect families and their children’s opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities, especially sports. This hurt my heart because sports should be available for all to play simply because they love to play, not because they have the money to play.

As an Administrative Assistant in the Greater Rochester area, I am able to serve as a supporting role to my staff as well as having a hand in the ministry events and projects in the area. One of my goals as I continue to grow in my area representative position is to offer a voice of inclusivity to the Rochester team when discussing how to serve the community better and expand the Kingdom. My hope is that every huddle, camp, and event that FCA offers to the community will be accessible to every person that wants to play and hear about the Lord no matter their race, gender, faith background, and especially economic status.
